A NOTE FROM KELLY
I've always loved to paint. I paint when I'm bored, inspired, want a challenge, or just need a change. My kids jokingly say that I'd even paint them if they stood still long enough.
But starting a home decor business wasn't on my bucket list. "College drop-out" isn't exactly a label of success. That's why I love stories about Peter (an "unschooled, ordinary" man) and Moses (a man who had trouble speaking). Their success has nothing to do with them. All they ever had to do was surrender to God's plan and let Him do the rest!
Surrendering to God's plan for my life has brought me peace and joy no college degree ever could. As I walk through various seasons of life, surrender takes on new looks. While my kids were home, it meant quitting a job I loved, because I felt called to be home. As they all entered school, against my initial fears and wishes, it meant working again. Looking back at His faithfulness gives me the courage to surrender to His will TODAY as our family works on getting licensed to foster care. In this case, it means surrendering my house, because we need more bedrooms. That part doesn't make me as uncomfortable as knowing that our family life is about to get a good shake.
But I trust Him. He has never led me astray.
I beg God to abide with me. And like all the other seasons of life when I've surrendered, I know in return, blessings will abound.
I'm thrilled that you'll be joining us for the Women's Retreat. I have no doubt that you'll leave the weekend with a renewed sense of freedom and eagerness to chase Jesus with all your might!
See you soon,
